Since I am nesting big time and looooving preparing for a little girl to join our family, I decided to get crafty last week. I stole an idea from a friend to hang letters above the baby's crib. I bought wood letters, painted them brown, then did sponge circles on the letters in pink and blue. My bedding is brown, pink & taupe, but I have struggled with how to incorporate Carver's blue nursery chair. I tried slip cover, blanket, etc but didn't work. I decided to just make it work because I couldn't make sense of buying a new chair.
Sooooo...that's why I had to do blue on the letters. Time to start my project, but first...gotta get my little shadow set up with his own art table to keep busy while mama gets to work.

Time for me to get started on painting my letters, in no particular order
Look who decided to forgo the paint brush and finger paint instead
First the blue dots, pink next. Any guesses on the name so far?
Atleast it could be corrected with a quick flip
Here comes the light pink...can you say GIRL?
It's coming along. Do you know the name yet?
Now a few pics of what I've done so far with the room.
Feel free to ignore from here on out, these are for the family (& Jules).
I am so excited that I, not really that crafty of a person, decided to use these 2 pictures that Carver painted last week. I realized the main colors were pink, blue and brown. I figured it was a good way to tie in the blue chair. I had old, unused frames in the house, and am beyond pleased with how great (I think, indulge me here) they look.

one of the bonuses of being a boy.
AND being mom to a boy. Never had to lift my paint brush to assist.

And let me tell you - Carver is proud to have his pictures hanging in baby sister's room.
View from hallway.
I'm just over the moon about the Strawberry Shortcake blanket (hanging over blue chair)
I bought the other day.
I bought the other day.
Is it just me or is Strawberry Shortcake not STILL so cute? It's the softest blanket ever
and I love that it's unique and reminds me of being a little girl myself.
No closeup but I'm sure you aren't too dissapointed.

Love the name! My college roomie just had a girl with the same name. Love you craftiness! And I love a good ole fashioned Jenny Lind crib - so I love you modern version of it! Great job witht he nursery.
